The Portuguese performing artist Daniel Pinheiro asked me to participate as Chef Rø in an online interactive performance between Porto (Portugal) and New York (US), along with American dancer Lisa Parra. The event took place at Mala Voadora (Porto) and Grace Exhibition Space (New York) simultaneously, consisting in a live streamed cooking show. Chef Rø cooked, explained and served a typical Portuguese southern recipe (açorda à Alentejana) while Lisa Parra and a sound designer manipulated both visual and sound elements in a real time performance. Both venues had spectators and special guests. The event was curated by Hector Canonge for the program “Of Food And Other Pleasures“, within the framework of The Great American Performance Art Festival.
